Irene Lin, 24 years old, graduated from Amherst College with a B.A. in American Studies. She spent one year volunteering as a reporter and trade policy research assistant in Harare, Zimbabwe. She has interned at the Center for Public Integrity, People Magazine, Washington Week in Review and A. Magazine. She was awarded the New York Times James Reston Portfolio Award for non-fiction writing.
Irene began her journey of political awareness as a high school freshman, and entered journalism as a way to stay an "eternal student." Her thesis taught her that what America does in far-off lands can have a profound impact on life within America.
She enjoys cello and figure-skating in her free time.
